Empowering Futures

White Sulphur Springs High School Students Explore Opportunities at Carroll College’s Annual College Fair

While it seems that the school year has just begun, the senior class is faced with the somewhat challenging question of what to do with their future. Throughout the year, White Sulphur Springs High School offers several events to the upperclassmen to aid them in determining the next step of their life. This week, several seniors attended a college fair to expose them to potential options for post-secondary education.
In years past, seniors at White Sulphur Springs High School have had the opportunity to learn more about the next steps for items such as financial aid and scholarships. The school counselor, Tiffany Sweeney, hosts several functions throughout the year for both seniors and their parents to attend, such as a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Information Night. Additionally, the school brings in speakers to promote student opportunities, such as Andy Beggar from Reach Higher Montana. While these are all college-based information sessions, the school also provides information for those who are looking to go directly into the workforce through activities such as the school’s Career Fair held in the spring semester.
On Monday, September 23, several juniors and seniors from White Sulphur Springs High School attended Carroll College’s Annual College Fair in Helena. The fair featured in-state schools, such as Montana State University, and several out-of-state institutions including Eastern Washington University, University of Wyoming, and Utah State University.
These events are crucial for helping students make informed decisions about their futures. By providing a variety of resources and opportunities, White Sulphur Springs High School ensures that each student can find a path that suits their individual goals and aspirations, whether that means pursuing higher education through college, a trade school, or entering the workforce directly.
All in all, White Sulphur Springs High School's dedication to supporting its senior class through comprehensive guidance and resources exemplifies its commitment to student success. By offering a range of informative events and personalized support, the school empowers its students to confidently navigate their post-secondary options and make well-informed decisions about their future endeavors.
