Storytime Returns

Meagher County City Library Brings Back Weekly Storytime for Young Readers

The Meagher County City Library is resuming its Weekly Storytime sessions, starting on Wednesday, September 4 at 11 AM. This event invites all children to participate in a morning of stories and activities aimed at fostering a love for reading and learning. The program is especially targeted at students who are either homeschooled or not yet old enough to attend school, creating a space for socialization and education among peers.
The library has a history of hosting educational events for children. Over the summer, the library conducted its Summer Reading Program from June through July 31. This program included activities that connected books to real-life experiences and ended with a visit from Zoo Montana. The Weekly Storytimes are set to have similar hands-on and interactive activities with themes correlating to animals, feelings, seasons, and upcoming holidays such as Halloween.
In addition to the Summer Reading Program, the library also interacted with and supported the youth of the region through a partnership with the Mountainview Medical Center. The pair provided a Free Summer Lunch Program to children under 18. These lunches were distributed weekly at the library from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM every Wednesday from June to mid-August.
While school began for the White Sulphur Springs Hornets at the end of August, the Meagher County City Library has taken the time to offer resources to those taking a different educational route. To aid in the beginning of the school year for many, the library hosted a Homeschool Information Night on August 12. This interactive event was designed for home-based students and their parents and highlighted the resources and technology available through the library to support homeschooling.
As the new school year begins, the library will continue its Weekly Storytime sessions. These sessions include interactive elements such as crafts, songs, and games related to the week's stories. Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their children to the library every Wednesday at 11 AM. The sessions are designed to be inclusive for all children, regardless of their reading level.
