Turkey Bingo

Local class hosting community event.

With Halloween season upon us, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are closing in quickly. While also being a season of giving and community, often, these holidays present a unique opportunity for classes and students of the White Sulphur Springs School to fundraise with holiday themed activities. One such activity that will be happening is Turkey Bingo. The seventh grade class of the White Sulphur Springs School will be hosting a bingo night for a holiday themed occasion. Funds from events such as this one are likely to be deposited into their class account. Classes and their advisors compile these funds from when students are in their 7th grade year all the way until they are seniors. Money is collected in a variety of ways that range from hosting concessions at sporting events all the way to selling items like popcorn. These funds help to put on the school traditions of prom and the annual junior/senior banquet when a given class is a junior. Following this, the rest is used to take the group of students on their final adventure as a class when they are seniors. The seventh graders will host Turkey Bingo on Monday, November 13 in the school’s multipurpose gym. Dinner will also be available for attendees at the holiday affair. This presents a chance to celebrate community and give thanks while simultaneously teaching the class important skills of fundraising and organization. The food will be that of Thanksgiving nature:—featuring a cornbread muffin and chili. The meal will begin at 5:30 p.m.and bingo will follow the dinner event at 6 p.m.Bingo cards will cost $.25 apiece and daubers cost $1 or attendees are invited to bring their own. The winners of the Turkey Bingo activity will receive a turkey or a ham as their prize.
