Fall Finds and Faith

Yoked and Trinity Parishes' Annual Fall Rummage Sale

Like many religious organizations in the area, the Yoked and Trinity Parishes have presented several community activities within the past few months and are continuing the church’s commitment to extending its outreach with upcoming events. At the beginning of October, the Yoked and Trinity Parishes are hosting their annual fall rummage sale for the community to be a part of.
The Yoked and Trinity Parishes are to give community members in attendance refreshments while they sort through second-hand items, socialize, and shop. Soup, bread, and coffee will all be provided. In addition to this, delicious homemade pies will also be available. These same pie recipes baked by congregation members were a delectable drawing point (and hit) during the church’s annual Pies and Praise event that was hosted the Sunday of the 2024 Red Ants Pants Music Festival.
The annual rummage sale is to be a two-day occasion that will be held at the White Sulphur Spring’s Yoked Parish Church (411 E Jefferson Street). The sale will be on Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, from late morning to late afternoon (specific times are not yet set). Donation items for the rummage sale are being accepted from Monday, October 7, through Wednesday, October 9. Those who wish to donate items may drop them off at the church or leave them by the front door.
All proceeds from the rummage sale will go forth to fund the local Yoked and Trinity Parishes’ congregational groups. Specifically, the proceeds are divided into two groups of women—the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ECLA) and the Presbyterian Ladies of the local church. The groups of ladies use the money for various church-related expenses as needed. Notably, price tags are no longer put on items within the sale and the church asks people who buy the goods to make a monetary donation in any amount that the buyer feels is fitting. Additionally, the Yoked and Trinity Parishes strongly encourage any buyers in financial need to take what they need if they cannot afford to donate to the cause.
The Yoked and Trinity Parishes’ annual fall rummage sale not only offers a chance for the community to come together and support one another but also provides a meaningful way to contribute to the church’s mission and activities. By encouraging donations and ensuring that those in financial need can still benefit, the event embodies the spirit of generosity and community care. This event underscores the church’s ongoing commitment to serving the community and fostering a sense of unity and compassion among its members.
