Ballet in Meagher County
An addition to the arts of Meagher County is being offered once again.
For being such a rural community, Meagher County has made significant strides in maintaining the amount of classes, performances, and other activities relating to fine arts. For instance, the Meagher County Art Council’s contribution of sponsored events, like Shakespeare in the Park, help to keep community members involved in what is an important source of joy and hope to many. As kids grow up in Meagher County, they may participate in band and other music classes through the White Sulphur Springs school. However, what about the homeschool children that live in the remote areas of the region and adults who are looking for new instruction pertaining to the arts? Annie Valle has listed her new offerings for providing ballet classes to the area. These classes are all held at the Martinsdale Community Hall and supply residents of the region with a creative outlet through dance. These classes have been offered previously and were well received. Annie Valle lists that her classes range from the age of six all the way through adult opportunities. This is a unique way for adult residents of the county to get active. Virtually all other opportunities in relation to physical activity classes for adults are through Adult Education or through the local establishment of Stone Temple Fitness and Spa in White Sulphur Springs. With the location being in Martinsdale, it allows Meagher County occupants outside of the county seat a fresh possibility of a new hobby without the travel. The classes began on October 3rd, but inquiries are likely to be welcomed by Ms. Valle. The set instructions times are on two different days of the week. One section of classes is offered in the evenings on Tuesdays and the other is offered in the morning on Saturdays. On Tuesday, classes include “Intro to Ballet” from 4:30 to 5 pm and “Ballet Technique” from 5 to 7 pm. On Saturdays, the “Intro to Ballet” class is hosted from 10:30 to 11 am and the “Ballet Technique” from 11 am to 1 pm. The distinctive opportunity of a ballet class in Meagher County is a welcome surprise, but it is also special that the classes are offered for no cost. Both new and returning students are welcome at the specialized dance lessons. However, returning students are requested to be at both classes on one given day and are invited to wear pointe shoes during the period of instruction.
